Languedoc Apartments comprise two superior holiday apartments, Castrum and Griffe, on the edge of Nizas, an idyllic wine-making village in the Herault Valley. Located near Pezenas, Nizas is an ideal base from which to discover the delights of the Languedoc.
The spacious and light apartments are situated in a separate and completely private half of a substantial historic house and are brimming with character and atmosphere. The house is in the eleventh century quarter and is in an enviable position as it is actually built onto the south-facing medieval walls of the original 'circulade' village.
Staying in Nizas you achieve the perfect balance of being based in a tranquil rural setting of great natural beauty but only 5 minutes away from the lively Renaissance town of Pezenas. Nizas is also close to the endless sandy beaches to the south and magnificent hills to the north.
Pezenas is an exceptionally attractive town. It was once the capital of the region and the 'Old Town' is a renowned architectural gem full of quality restaurants, cafes, wine bars and antique shops.
Each apartment is fully self-contained and designed to accommodate 2-3 people comfortably. Both have sun-drenched south facing terraces with sublime panoramic views of vineyards and woodland. Guests also have access, through a rare 30 foot high medieval ice-room, to the owners swimming pool during the afternoon.
In 2005 the apartments were re-furbished with great attention to detail including new appliances, classic French furnishings, fine artwork, quality linen and towels, DVD/CD player and UK television and radio via satelite. WiFi broadband connection is available in the foyer. Guests may also freely choose from the owner's book, music and film library.
